News and Events December 15, 2006 RecycleForce Holiday Party. To be held 11:30 - 1:30 in our conference room at Sherman Park. Lots of special guests are expected! December 13, 2006 Press Release announcing Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson's upcoming visit to RecycleForce headquarters. December 3, 2006 Workforce, Inc. welcomes Michael Cross as its new Vice President. Mr. Cross is in charge of programming and development. Mr. Cross is an experienced non-profit executive, researcher, lecturer and program development consultant. From 2001-2004 he was Vice President of the Indianapolis Center for Leadership Development. At CLD, he managed mentoring and youth programs that focused on preparing inner city youth for college. Prior to his work at CLD, Mr. Cross was an administrator at the Detroit Urban League. He directed one of the country’s first Male Responsibility Programs, which encompassed mentoring, academic achievement, violence prevention, conflict resolution and job skills development. Mr. Cross holds a dual masters degree from the University of Michigan in social work and community organization. December 3, 2006 Tom Orr Accepts New Position Thomas A. Orr, Vice President of Workforce, Inc., is leaving to accept a position with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) in Indianapolis. At LISC he will manage a new initiative called the Center for Working Families, providing technical assistance and support for building frontline workforce development capacity in neighborhood centers. This work is part of the Annie E. Casey Foundation's Family Strengthening initiative. We are grateful to Mr. Orr for his years of good service and are pleased he will continue to serve as Secretary of the Workforce, Inc. Board of Directors. We wish Tom all the best. November 13, 2006 Tom Gray takes helm of Recycle Force, LLC as new President. Mr. Gray runs the daily operations of the e-waste social enterprise. Mr. Gray is a former Wall Street securities analyst, with a specialization in international markets. Since moving to Indianapolis seven years ago, he has acted as a strategic consultant to a wide range of successful small businesses in the Indianapolis area. Mr. Gray has served on the boards of several local non-profits. He is a Certified Financial Analyst and holds a PhD from Princeton University. November 2006 Recycle Force is proud to announce an affiliation with the Indiana Coalition on Housing and Homeless Issues (ICHHI). Please visit their new website. October 30, 2006 Recycle Force announces an exciting partnership with Earlham College. Press Release October 2006 Recycle Force is prominently featured in this month's Coming Home: Re-entry Indiana Newsletter September 23, 2006 Recycle Force completed a successful collection event with the Hancock County SWMD in Greenfield, Ind. Watch for more collection events in the future. September 4, 2006 Congratulations to the Indiana Recycling Coalition for receiving the National Recycling Coalition's Award for Outstanding Recycling Organization.
